New Years 2012
Are You Making the Most of the New Year?

It’s January 2nd. I’d planned to spend some time thinking about what’s important to me in the year ahead. But no sooner did I get to my desk than my email program clamored for attention with a 200-message backlog. My projects list has four incomplete projects, and I have a Get-it-Done Guy episode deadline just two days away. Before I know it, I’m caught up in my normal work chaos. I’ve jotted a few notes about the changes that need to happen, but when I’m honest with myself, I’ve given it less real thought than I give when ordering at Starbucks.
The start of the year is traditionally a great time to stop, reassess our jobs, careers, and lives, and make changes to move us in the direction we most want to go. Have you taken the time to give concentrated, clear, focused thought to how your next your can be different? If you’re like me, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of the new year, and never spend the time it takes to get very clear about what is and isn’t working. I don’t want a life lived on reactionary autopilot; I want a life I deliberately craft to be meaningful, fun, and fulfilling.
Going on autopilot is great, as long as you know you’re going in the right direction. All too many times, though, autopilot is just easier than taking the time to reassess. But when I look at the people who are making upwards of $1 million a year (my own highly aspirational goal), they take the time to discard things they’ve outgrown. They plan deliberate learning experiences. They build strong business and personal relationships. In short, they live their life consciously.
But the only way to live like that is, well, to take the time to make it happen. So I’m setting aside Friday, January 20, as a day of Building Our Best Life. In this whole-day, telephone-based program, we will go through an intensive program of examining our last year, what worked, what didn’t, and where we most want to go in our lives and careers. We’ll get clarity on how our actions tie to our highest goals and values, and use what we learn to set goals for the year ahead. We’ll get all the way to identifying the specific behaviors to drop, change, or add for making 2012 our most successful year. The day will mix instruction, off-line introspection, and group debrief to share what we’ve discovered.
Due to the highly interactive nature of this program, enrollment is extremely limited. Come join me! Together we’ll create the life maps that will create the life we want, examine our current lives, and identify the changes we need for the next year. We’ll drive all the way down to the specific actions you can take to begin creating your own extraordinary life—whatever that means to you. You don’t need to bring anything except some blank paper, a pencil, and your highest aspirations. I’ll provide PDF worksheets you can print and work from, a day’s worth of conference calls to frame each segment of the program, and live debriefing and Q&A after each mini-module.
The price is just $149 to make sure that in 2012, you take your next steps towards an extraordinary life. Please note: this is an all-day program. If you register, I ask that you commit to being fully present the entire day. That means no email, closed door, no phone calls. Just 100% commitment to making your best next steps happen.
