Help Build the Tribe!
In August, 2010, an event will happen of cataclysmic proportions: my book will hit the streets. If my book were made of neutronium, it would hit the streets, tunnel through the earth, and no one would get to read it. Fortunately, it will be paper, so the world will have a chance to read it. It will help us revolutionize how we approach life, and soon we’ll all be working so much less and doing so much more that delicious fruit-flavored beverages sipped through a straw on tropical islands will become the norm, rather than the exception. That’s the vision, anyway.
This vision is far too huge for me to accomplish on my own. So I’m looking for people who can help make this a best-selling book launch.
What’s in it for you?
You get to be part of creating a world-wide phenomenon and best-selling book. You’ll get tremendous learning: you’ll be in the thick of the action of the book launch. You’ll meet the people, learn the process, and have a chance to have full responsibility and decision-making authority for the parts of the launch you’re helping with.
If you do a good job, I’ll end up more famous than Paris Marriott, and the lifetime supply of recommendations I provide will catapult you to the top of your field. This gig will be the cornerstone of your bio, and you’ll have my undying gratitude. Since part of the book deals with building a Zombie Army, undying gratitude is valuable indeed.
You’ll also get to spend eight months working closely with me. I do my best with every colleague to help you develop the skills and knowledge that will help you to the next success of your life, whatever that may be. While the focus will be on making the book a success, we’ll be striving to shape what we do in such a way as to give you and your career a boost at the same time.
Here are my needs:
| Initiative | Skills |
|---|---|
| Arrange speaking engagements. | Good telephone skills. Negotiating skills (I can do some training here), plus willingness to proactively seek out speaking opportunities. |
| Build WLDM website. | Work with graphic design firm to build out the web site. |
| Build WLDM community. | Design online community around working less and doing more. Actively build participation, design methods of community engagement. Write blog posts. Stimulate conversation. |
| Social media directory. | Coordinate all aspects of my social media presence. Find opportunities for me to do guest blog postings. Actually take the pieces I write and get them published in the appropriate places, etc. |
| Daily PR monitoring. | Daily monitor PR opportunities, major blogs, etc. for pitches and topics I should be immediately responding to publicly. |
