Still #1 in business. Rah! Back up to #46 then #38 overall (probably because of the USA Today article). I'm going to stop tracking this; it's driving me nuts!

Slipped back to #11 overall a few days ago, and have been holding strong at #11 overall, #1 in business.

Er, I keep being surprised. I was hoping to make it to the top 10 sometime in 2008 after a big PR campaign. Well, reality beat me to it, with nothing needed from me except being present. Yow.

Can you say "volatility?" I'm still at #1 in business, #15 overall today. I'm deeply appreciative of the iTunes folk, who gave me big-logo presence on the podcast screen today.

I've continued as #1 in Business. Yesterday, I fell as low as #20 on the Top-20 overall, but as of today, I'm back up to #17.
These rankings are tricky. I've learned more about them in the last couple of days. What gets tracked is the number of new subscribers, not the total number of subscribers. So the rankings measure the velocity of a podcast. They answer the question: How fast is this podcast growing?
As such, you can have a huge subscriber base, but if the number of new subscribers is slowing, you'll fall in the rankings.
I'm not sure how much effort I should put into actively trying to maintain my rank, other than simply writing episodes that give neat twists on interesting topics, and doing it in an engaging, expressive way.

Am I the same man who wrote the BLOG entry talking about how we get too obsessed with ranking? Easy to say. Get-It-Done Guy is now #16 on iTunes overall. I'm finding it surprisingly hard not to check in daily. Grin.

Wow. I'm boggled. Get-It-Done Guy is now #17 in all of iTunes podcast area. I'm above Joel Osteen and now on the front page of the Podcast section.
